We’ve got answers
What’s the turn-around time on my Prints/Wall Art/Albums?
This depends a lot on the type of products you’ve ordered, and the time of year. If it’s the middle of Winter and you’ve ordered some Gift Prints, we can turn these around in a day or two. If you’ve ordered one of our Italian Made Albums right on the end of wedding season, the process can sometimes take up to 3 months or more from when you’ve approved your design. We’ll be able to give you an estimate when you place your order.
Can I get the same quality products myself?
If you have print-res files, you can order prints online with Gippsland Fine Art Printing and receive the same Fine Art quality as any prints included in your collection. When it comes to albums, canvases and wood prints, we use companies that supply trade customers only.
Do you include a USB of images?
For weddings, yes, print-res images are delivered on USB with your final products.
For portraits, there are various options when it comes to your USB, some collections include print-res, some only include screen-res, we’ll chat about this more when you come in for your Shoot Design Appointment.
Will you travel?
Absolutely! We love to travel and have shot weddings in many different parts of Australia including Stradbroke Island, Byron Bay, Wollongong, Sydney, Adelaide, Torquay and Mt Gambier. We're keen as to travel to wherever in the world it is that you're getting hitched. If overnight accommodation or flights are required, there will be travel fees applicable and we'll chat about that when we first meet with you.
Do you include two photographers on weddings?
You can secure two photographers for your wedding for an additional $500
Do you bring an assistant?
If we feel it’s necessary or if we are shooting both video + photo for your wedding, we will have an assistant to help with our gear and ensure we stay fed + hydrated.
Do we need to feed you?
If booking video or photography with reception coverage, then yes please! We normally need a sugar hit by the start of the reception, but there’s only so much a soft-drink can do, so please do organise a meal from your reception venue/caterer – Ange is one of those people that doesn’t eat meat, but she’ll be happy if offer her cheese.
Can we do a first look/What if my day isn't the "normal" get ready/afternoon ceremony/photos/reception gig?
We are big fans of first looks and non-traditional weddings. We're happy to work with however you want to organise your day, obviously there are "ideal" timeframes we need to achieve the type of images you see here, but normally we can work with your timeline.
We aren’t good with photos, do we have to have an engagement shoot/do we have to pose on the day?
Ok, we seriously hear this so often, and so many couples have never had photos taken together so we really suggest that your wedding day not be the first time to give it a crack. If you’re dreading having your photo taken, then we’ll pretty much insist you have an engagement shoot so your mind will be at ease and you’ll get to see how we work. We promise not to pose you, but there will be times where we might guide you. As for family photos, well, they are a necessary evil, but we’ll smash them out for you so you can get back to relaxing and enjoying each other’s’ company.
What songs can we have for our video?
Licensing the popular music you hear on the radio is ridiculously expensive, so we’ll use songs that we can access through services we have a subscription to, we promise it will be something that will fit your day perfectly
What cameras do you use?
We're all Canon here, not that it matters, but just wait until we bring out the big guns!
I see all these people mentioning awards on their websites, have you guys ever won any?
We have, quite a few in fact, but we don’t want to brag, and recently, we’ve had life happening, so we haven’t entered anything for a few years. We think it’s much better for couples to be looking at full weddings to really get a feel of our work, instead of a few award-winning images, so you may see some on our website, but we don’t have a specific gallery for them.
Why don’t we see you at bridal expos?
Well to be honest, we find expos kind of impersonal, and while we try to make a great impression, you’ve probably had conversations with 30 different wedding vendors and really won’t remember too many details of what we chat about. We do one or two a year, but find a lot of couples we meet at expos haven’t got a wedding date yet, so we can’t even be sure that we are available! For us, and you, we’d rather meet one on one and really have a good chat and make sure we’re the right fit for each other. This is the same reason why you won’t see us advertising in wedding magazines very often, we just don’t want to try and compete with all that noise, when you’re ready to speak photo + video, we’d love to hear from you!
Are you members of any professional bodies?
We used to be, we used to be really active members of the national industry body, but for various reasons we’re not currently members. Does this make any difference to you? Not in the slightest, we still operate the same as we did before under the code of ethics we were bound by, we still have all the same t&c’s and still sign a contract to protect both us and our clients.
I’ve heard that Danae is really expensive, can you fit within my budget?
We’re all about quality, no 9c prints here, nor will we just hand you a USB of files for you to share on social media for 5 minutes, pop in a drawer and never print, it’s just not how we do things. We believe your images should be on display in your home, to pull on your heart-strings regularly.
Print prices are from $175. Most of our portrait clients spend between $1,300 and $3,000. We’re happy to go through our product options in more detail when you pop into the studio, if we put it all up here, it would just be words and numbers, it’s so much better when you can touch and feel all the things!
Wedding Photography Collections start at $2,995, Photo + Video from $5,390. Most people getting a wedding album do upgrade the number of pages, but this is entirely up to you and we’ll give you all the info when you come to the studio the first time
