Jas & Kristian are the most hilarious couple, they have me in fits of laughter every time I see them. Their wedding day was everything they said it would be, it was an absolute blast to be a part of and a pleasure to capture for them.
Kristian’s family property was the setting for this beautiful wedding and they included so many sentimental touches to personalise their day. Kristian’s parents were married on the same property and his polka-dot bow-tie matched the one his late dad wore. Not only that, but the chair they used when signing the registry was also a tribute to Charlie, a brilliant jockey, who’s framed achievements we used as a backdrop inside the house. Jas’ robe was made by her grandma and her grandparents travelled all the way from Europe to share in their day! Jas’ mum did an ah-mazing job with all the flowers Jas bought from the market, she even made the bouquets and buttonholes! Not only did Jas wear shoes that did up with velcro, but the boys wore pink socks – all cool kids! The VL Peter Brock special wedding car is Kristian’s and the boys were very gracious when I asked them to take their pride & joy’s on a dirt road I’d scouted out – thanks boys, totally worth it (pity the grumpy locals weren’t as happy about us blocking it, whoops)!
Jas and Kristian’s family and friends helped them with DIY e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g… wooden wedding signs, birdcage veil, converted barn for the reception(!), the bar to match the barn, lawn games ALL made by ONE bridesmaid, decorated mason jars, and the rest of the decorations, it was all beautifully earthy DIY perfection. During the evening there were the fireworks that Jas organised as a surprise for her new husband, it started pouring rain just before they kicked off, all of the guests crammed under the veranda and our newlyweds got cozy under an umbrella. Big ups to Hannah for sacrificing her dry clothes to hold the flash for me and also for capturing the speeches while I put together the slideshow.
Jas & Kristian, thank you for choosing me, and for being willing to go to my odd-ball arrow sign location down the street, you’re awesome and we wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
